Batch 4 — Gargoyle is a muted stone-grey flesh tone layered with soft brown, taupe, and weathered mauve undertones. Darker and moodier than the surrounding batches, this shade carries an aged sculptural feel reminiscent of worn statues, limestone, dust, and gothic architecture. In natural light, Gargoyle reveals a subtle earthy warmth beneath its pale grey surface, giving it a realistic organic depth rather than a flat cement tone.
The Flesh Tone Campaign is focused on expanding the range of realistic and artistic skin-tone colors available in borosilicate glass. Using NS-054 Star White as a stable base, we’ve been experimenting with different pigment combinations and batch variations to create new shades, depth, warmth, and undertones not commonly seen in boro.
